“In an alternate universe, your life would be perfect, God would be easier to see, and choices would be easier to make.”
The problem: You don’t live in an alternate universe.
You have to make your decisions now, right where you live, with the information you have been given, and with the knowledge you are able to obtain, in the generation you were born in, with the family you were issued, in the mood of your culture.
You alone will give an account for your life. By yourself. So will I.
Life is short. Eternity is long. Make your days count.
Isaiah 55:6-9New International Version (NIV)
6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Matthew 7:7-12New International Version (NIV)
Ask, Seek, Knock
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.
